WikiaProjects are ongoing team efforts to improve articles having to do with a particular subject, and to manage the logistics of that topic. Hundreds exist — examine the master list to find one that interests you. They are separate from, though may work with, Collaborations.

Project Overview

This Wiki seeks to better organize information in articles related to Stargate Wars. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikiapedians. If you would like to help, please inquire on the talk page and see the to-do list there and add your name to the participants list. It is also strongly suggested that you watchlist as many articles as you are interested in to watch for vandalism.

Mission statement
Our mission is to focus efforts and to promote interaction, cooperation, and communication in order to improve Stargate Wars's encyclopedic coverage of the many dimensions of the game including both the social and technical information within it.

Goals
The Wiki's ultimate goal is focused on offering readers a comprehensive and informative guide to high-quality articles relating to Stargate Wars. Because of this it is our desire . . .

1. To create, maintain, and improve complete and comprehensive repository of knowledge concerning Stargate Wars.

• To improve all articles to good article and then featured article status.

1. To create profiles for all major facets, characters, races and technologies in the Stargate Wars universe, and create a consistent look for each kind of page.
2. To organize all Stargate pages and link them all systematically, making the Stargate Wars database easy to navigate and to provide standards and guidelines for articles related to the world of SgW.

Scope

• This Wiki aims to improve and organise articles relating to Stargate Wars. It attempts to coordinate the writing efforts, organize and create standards for making good articles. It endeavours to create a good reference for the Stargate Wars universe in encyclopedic terms.
• Even though all topics will be worked on, this project will make a particular effort regarding the social aspect. It endeavours to create a page for each major alliance and player, with complete information within.
• We do not need fancruft or pages on minor things, unless if that is strictly confined to one's userpage.

Structure
Types of articles:

• Universe - concepts, ideas, systems
• Races - aliens, human civilizations, empires
• Technology - devices, ships, mechanics
• Planets - worlds, nations, locations
• Players - recurring, major, minor

Collaboration
The SgW Collaboration of the Fortnight seeks to identify particular articles that would benefit from a significant collaborative effort. Every fortnight, a single article is selected as the focus, and the project attempts to improve it, potentially to featured article standards.

Any articles dealing with some aspect of SgW (except for current featured articles and featured article candidates) are eligible, and everyone is invited to nominate articles.

Outreach
The outreach department acts as the project's central point of coordination for recruiting new members and maintaining the interest of current participants.

Peer review
The Peer Review department conducts peer reviews of SgW-related articles on request; this helps to obtain ideas for further improvement by having contributors who may not have previously worked on particular articles examine them. Project members are invited to submit articles to the department in lieu of using the generic peer review process.

WikiProject Narnia has an assessment department to rate all Narnia articles on their quality and their importance.

[edit] Collaboration of the Week

A collaboration is an effort by a group of people to improve a certain article. This WikiProject has not yet put into action its collaboration, but you are may preview the future collaboration page.

[edit] Adopt an article

Similar to the Collaboration of the week, but on a smaller scale, you might want to "adopt" an article personally. This would involve doing the research, writing, and picture-taking (if possible) for either a non-existent article or a stub. Of course, everyone else can still edit an adopted article, and you can work on other things too, but the idea is to find a focus for a while, to try and build up the number of quality articles the Project has produced.

Before we begin this project, we need to list our "orphans"! Please make a list below of articles you would like to see improved or created, and once the list is substantial enough, we will assign out articles to Project participants.

When you are done, add the article to the Peer Review page for it to be reviewed. After it is reviewed, go ahead and improve it, and if you can, nominate it for good article status.
